This workshop/session is designed to help facilitate senior managers to a level of understanding of Social Media that they then become comfortable with it.

  • What IS Social Media?
    • Wikipedia definition
    • Stats: who is doing all this stuff?
    • Geek talk: RSS, XML, AJAX, widget... wtf?
      • (It's all technology that has been around a long time; it's just suddenly exploded out of the tiny geek community and gone mainstream)
  • Why is it so important?

      • 'Declarative living'
        • (The idea that rather than posting stuff that allows people to stalk us, we purposefully digitise and post our lives so that we get more value back - contacts, connections, etc.)

  • The 'Flat Earth': Discussion about Freidman's book -- the book focuses on India, but what are the implications for you (and not just with call centres)?
